Cordero was diagnosed on March 24, 2014, at 14 years of age, with T-Cell ALL with CNS involvement. In addition, he presented with bi-lateral facial paralysis, which is extremely unique. His treatment plan is 3.5 years and he is 5 months into treatment. He turned 15 on June 14th. He is now a Sophomore at McKinney Boyd High School but is on homebound studies so he is unable to attend school with his classmates. He was on the Freshman baseball team when he was diagnosed and loves playing!
