Eila was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma on November 1, 2014. Since then, she's undergone 5 rounds of induction chemo, a resection surgery that also took her kidney and adrenal gland, 2 rounds of infused MIBG radiation, a stem cell transplant, 4 rounds of oral chemo, 24 rounds of targeted radiation, 7 rounds of immunotherapy and chemo, and is now on 2 years of DFMO for maintenance therapy. She has endured over 60 blood transfusions, countless scans, bone marrow biopsies, shots, anesthesia, ER visits and months spent in the hospital. She has gone through all of this with a smile on her face, she hasn't let any of it get her down. She is my hero!
