Emily has Stage IV, Intermediate-Risk Neuroblastoma. She has been in treatment since January and just recently had surgery to remove her tumor. We are back in the clinic to undergo additional chemotherapy. One very interesting fact about Emily's diagnosis is that she was originally diagnosed and being treated as Stage IV, High-Risk Neuroblastoma until the Children's Oncology Group looked at some additional cells from her biopsy. We are very happy that her treatment plan has been moved to Intermediate-Risk! Emily is a little social butterfly--she LOVES to be outside playing, interacting with doggies and fish, and likes to play with her babies. She is even starting to "help" mama around the house! Emily is my daughter who continues to amaze me day in and day out. She has been so strong through her treatment so far—I don’t know how she does it!
