UPDATE: Grace had her last treatment for her first round of chemo yesterday, and it went well. She gets a little nauseous and sore from it, but all-in-all does well with it. The final pathology on her renal tumor came back as well, but it wasn't what we were "hoping" for. The final diagnosis is an undifferentiated renal sarcoma. The problem with that diagnosis is that a sarcoma sometimes requires larger amounts of radiation than what her little body can handle. So, the possibility of it coming back is greater. Our hope is that removing the tumor and the bit of radiation she did have will be enough. The chemotherapy that the sarcoma needs is also harder on her remaining kidney than the other type of cancer that was being considered. For now, the plan is to switch chemotherapy over to the one needed for the sarcoma (they had started her on the other while awaiting pathology because it was not as hard on her kidney) and the doctors will continue to monitor her kidney function and dietary needs. We are still remaining optimistic that Grace will win this fight. She's a tough girl and amazes the doctors at every visit. She has lost 1 kidney and had a tumor also removed from her brain
