Another long night, followed by another long day. This morning Harlow had a blood marrow test, and heartbreakingly, it came back with cancer cells in her marrow. she is now diagnosed with high risk neuroblastoma. A plan has been made. Today at 5pm she will start very aggressive chemotherapy, and will have it for 5 days in a row, add a few more days in the hospital, and then 3'weeks at home. Followed by 5 days of chemotherapy, 3 weeks at home. At that time the hope is that the bone marrow will be clear and stem cells will be extracted to use later. Another 5 days of chemo and 3 weeks at home. 3 1/2 months from now they will do surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible. 3 weeks from that point there will be a stem cell transplant with her healthy stem cells...she will spend 3-4 weeks in the hospital. Recovery, and then do it again....stem cell transplant, 3-4 weeks in hospital. This will all be followed by radiation of any remaining cells, followed by immunotherapy as an out patient. Following all of this will be MIBG scans to search for any other cancer cells. The aggressive chemo gives her the best chance of recovery, and we believe they will find a cure for our beautiful little princess!! <3 Continued thanks for your thoughts and prayers
