Hayley was a typical, spunky and silly three year old until she fell ill a few weeks after her 3rd birthday. June 6, 2016 her parents took her to the doctor after one of her caregivers at daycare called with a concern after she collapsed after nap time and was complaining of pain in her legs. After some lab work that night, her primary care physican called with the heart wrenching news that Hayley had leukemia. By June 9th, she was starting treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Hayley's first month of treatment included extended hospital stays and visits, a PICC line placed, chemotherapy, bone marrow biopsies, spinal taps and multiple daily oral medications. She lost her sweet spunk during those firt tough weeks and a little each time she has to endure the continued toxic treatments. But she is so brave and fighting Leukemia like a warrior! Hayley still have a long road ahead but will continue to fight and help raise awareness for childhood cancer.
