My son 6 was diagnosed Feb 14th, 2017. We knew something was wrong but we never once thought cancer. We did lab work at our local pediatrician around 3:30 PM in Monday the 13th to rule out lymphoma. I was told I would get a call in a few days. A few days was turned into hours. I recieved a call at 9 pm stating my son has abnormalities in his blood and he needed a blood transfusion and was told to get to thhim Emergency room right away. My husband and I got my son ready and headed to the ER and that hey started hooking him up to an IV, taking more blood samples, EKG scan of his chest all of it. We were all in shock and wondering what was happening. The dr finally came in and was hesitant to tell us what was going on when she said your son has leukemia. We aren't sure on what kind or much more about it. She stated the flight team was in their way to pick up in 40 min to be flown from Yakima wa to Seattle wa 3 hours driving distance away. We were flown over and have been here ever since. My son has 3 siblings a brother 9, sisters 6 and 2.5. We currently stay at the Ronald McDonald House here in Seattle while undergoing treatments till hopefully October or November. He's a little warrior and is responding to all treatments very well. He has a 30% relapse rate but we pray nothing will come back. #fightforIzaiah
