July of 2016 Ryder was taken by helicopter from our local hospital to Childrens and diagnosed with Very High Risk B Cell Leukemia. We stayed at Childrens for a little over a month. And so many other times since then. Unfortunately he was allergic to PEG and had to receive many, many, many shots of Erwinia in his leg which was his least favorite part of chemo. We are now in maintenance and have a year left to go. For the most part we are just a normal little boy but we still have low energy after chemo where we feel yuck for the week, and keep dealing with elevated liver counts from the medicine. Ryder loves video games like Donkey King and Mario, we watched the movie Pixels a million times while at the hospital, I always tell himnhe should have been born in the 80s. He also loves running. Him and his big sis love to race around the house. He has handled everything so amazingly, never giving us a hard time about having to go even though he knew he was getting a shot. We couldn't be more proud of him... How brave and strong he is!
