Kasey, age 3, was diagnosed with Pre B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on March 9th, 2017. Two months prior to diagnosis she had a week long hospital stay due to fever and the doctors came to the conclusion it was an unknown virus. We went back for follow up labs and everything went back to normal. Then on March 8th she had a fever following getting in a car accident earlier in the day. We went to the ER and her blood numbers were bottomed out and we were admitted again. This time the had the diagnosis of cancer. She is in the standard risk category and just finished up frontline treatment in November. She is currently in long term maintenance until May 10, 2020. She has handled treatment exceptionally well and has minimal side effect- which we are so grateful for. Kasey loves arts and crafts, having movie night with popcorn and playing outside with the two sisters and her brother. She says she wants to be a doctor when she grows up.
