On April 17, 2019 Luca went to pediatrician after noticing some bumps behind ears. Thinking maybe allergies because the weeks prior constantly sneezing and showing sighs of head cold. After blood work showed no signs of infection, the dr requested that we take Luca to children’s hospital Los Angeles to get additional test. April 23, 2019 we walked in not knowing our lives would forever be changed. After blood work, X-rays and ultrasound Luca was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Right away Luca started treatment, spent 6 days in the hospital getting picc line put in, a lumbar puncture and bone marrow aspiration. With lots of blood work and the beginning of all meds that will help cure him. Finding out this will be 2-3 year battle, and trying to figure out how to adjust. And the whole time Luca taking it like a champ. Currently Luca is in interim maintenance #1 things have been going smooth with a set back today 7/11/19 his anc was not where it needed to be to get treatment. So on a little set back with treatment, but with a positive attitude he continues to fight like a champion.
