On Sept 5,2018 we got the worst news ever, Natalia had a brain tumor. It was the day before Natalia's first day of high school. We felt like we were in a dream, I just wanted to be woken up.
Natalia was admitted to Childrens Hospital Boston and had the tumor removed on Sept 7,2018.
Natalia had done great during surgery. The tumor was the size of a small nectarine and it was in the 4th ventricle. We wouldn't find out for 2 wks if it were benign or malignant. On Monday Sept 24 I got a call from an Oncologist at Dana Farber and was given another blow, the tumor was malignant, it was a Choroid Plexus Carcinoma. The treatment would be 6 rounds of chemo and 6wks of radiation. On Oct 22 2018 Natalia began her first round of chemo. During the whole round she would have to be in patient at Children's. That following Saturday Natalia was discharged and we went home. In the following weeks we did not know what to expect but Natalia did fantastic. Natalia has since earned the title " The Strongest Girl" Right now Natalia is undergoing the 6wks of radiation, Again, She is doing a fantastic job and hasn't complained once. She is truly an inspiration to many. Natalia has 4 more rounds of chemo ahead of her, she would be forever grateful for an ipad or laptop to take to the hospital and to drs appts.
