My name is Tara, my husband's name is Chad. We have 2 beautiful children Owen (8) & Addyson (6). Back in November we all had bad colds that kept going from one to the other. When my son got the cold it ended up that we thought his eye was infected. We took him to his a doctor and they diagnosed him with pink eye. 10 days of antibiotics and we saw no improvement with his eye if anything his eye was more swollen. We then took him in to our Dr. And she thought it was a sinus infection. So a new antibiotic for 10 more days. After 2 days we saw no improvement. We called our Dr. and she had us see an eye doctor. The eye doctor did his normal check up and then decided he would like to have a CT scan done. We ended up at children's emergency that afternoon. Owen went through lots of scans and had a biopsy done on his eye. 1 week later Owen was diagnosed with rhabdomyosacoma. A cancerous tumor under his eye. The tumor had grown fast and was no in his cheekbone. Luckily we found this tumor really early. He will have 42 weeks of chemo and 5 weeks of radiation. We are done with 4 weeks of chemo already and he has responded so well to the treatments. I'm nervous for Monday when radiation treatments start only because I have no idea what to expect. ❤
