Hi, I am writing in for my daughter, Trinity. She just turned 12 on January 5th.
On September 29th she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), the same day, doctors here at the children’s hospital discovered she had been born with a major hole in her heart, I had no idea about. Her pediatrician in our hometown always dismissed her breathing issues as light asthma.
Trinity has been in the hospital since September 29th, nearly two hours from home..away from her family (younger siblings; brother, sister). Since the placement of the port & type of chemo she has been getting, all of her treatments are in-patient.
Trinity has been home approximately 20 days since her cancer diagnosis.
Christmas, Thanksgiving, her 12th Birthday...all celebrated here at the children’s hospital.
Trinity should be done with all of her chemo & home by March of this year.
After that, it’s the heart surgery.
