About Tristan
UPDATE: Tristan has been fighting through this season since the flu epidemic is so great this year. I've had to keep my son out of school several times this year because other children in the school have been showing signs of illness. Is very hard to take care of my son since I'm a single parent and my elderly parents don't get out of the house much. They also do not have the energy to take care of a energetic 5 year old. I have been letting my son play with ABCmouse on my tablet but that's getting too expensive. Trying to find ways to have my son have fun while I'm busy at work. In September things might change when he is at kindergarten and will be taking a bus. All in all Tristan is well and next month his treatments are going to end and port is going to be take it out. He will not have an immune system for another 7 months though. In August 2014, 18 month old Tristan and I, were on vacation in Myrtle Beach with my parents. For the first two weeks when of the trip I noticed him getting bruises very easily, his stomach was getting bigger without gaining any weight and his lymph nodes in the back of his neck were enlarged. I took him to the hospital down there to get turned around. They didn’t do any blood tests; the doctors said that he just had a virus. Returning home a week later, he had a wellness visit with his pediatrician. That evening, I received a phone call to bring Tristan to the Maria Fareri Hospital STAT! He needed a blood transfusion and platelets. I was in shock that my son had been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Tristan is in remission, but will have to undergo two and a half years of chemotherapy. Thankfully, we have had the support of doctors, surgeons, friends, and family. Tristan’s hobbies include music (everything to do with music) singing, dancing, playing guitar, pretending one of his guitars is a cello. Building snowman (when there is snow), sleigh riding, playing on the playground. He enjoys all types of food and is surrounded by great family members such as his uncles David and Chris, Grandma Wanda, and Grandpa John.
