Six year old Benny is no stranger to fighting. The youngest of four kids, Benny was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was one year old. Five years later, on his 6th birthday, the doctors diagnosed him with Leukemia. Benny started his Chemo treatments on Friday, November 24 after the doctors were able to transition him to epilepsy medications that are more compatible with Chemo. We will know more about his prognosis after his first 28 days of treatment and his second bone marrow biopsy. Benny will most likely need to continue having blood transfusions and platelets and will not be able to attend school the first 28 days while he gets his treatments and transfusions due to not feeling well and avoiding risk of infections.
