On Friday June 16th, 2017, our 19 month old son Jesiah went in for a followup due to leg pain. Bloodwork had been ordered & a couple of hours later we recieved a phone call from his doctor that his bloodwork came back abnormal, & we needed to take Jesiah into the ER ASAP!! (Still at the Hospital) Saturday June 17th at 2:20am we had been airlifted from Yakima Regional hospital & arrived in Seattle, WA then transported to the Seattle Children’s hospital. There, the doctor stated that Jesiah's white blood cell count was very high and that he was going to have to be admitted into the hospital for further testing and have some repeat labs. They performed a chest X-ray, then off to the Cancer Care unit it was. More tests were performed and then it was the waiting game. Around 2:15pm, a group of Doctors came in and confirmed that Jesiah was diagnosed with a High Risk case of “Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.” Jesiah had a port placed in his chest and began Chemo therapy on Monday June 19th, 2017. Jesiah has a long journey to recovery ahead of him as do we. We were recently informed that we will need to relocate to Seattle & must be no more than a 1 hr radius from the Seattle Children's Hospital. Jesiah's treatment is scheduled to be 3 years long, the first year we will be in Seattle and thereafter would be able to move back home. We are a family of 4, as we have one other son who is going to be turning 5 next month who is set to start kindergarten this upcoming school year. We could use all the help we can get as this is not and has not been easy for us, Life changed in an instant, and as of now, all we can do is keep Faith, and continue to be strong for Jesiah and our Family as we are still digesting this, but are strong in Faith & know that Our Almighty God & Father is for us & will restore his health!
