In November 2012, Addison had a routine procedure to remove a wart from her leg. Two weeks later the doctor called to confirm the wart had come back as malignant melanoma. We were shocked as this is very rare in children and we were not even concerned about it in the first place. She went thru surgery 2 weeks later to remove a portion of her thigh and in February 2013 we were started on the only chemo that is available for this cancer as a prevention as there is no med that cures this cancer.
