Tavish was diagnosed on October 1, 2018. He has high risk B cell Leukemia with an additional diagnosis of mixed lineage leukemia. This was scary because the second diagnosis had the potential to completely change Tavish’s prognosis so the first month was very scary. Cancer is scary no matter what but after his second bone marrow biopsy we found that he was responding to treatment and we have a very positive prognosis. Since October Tavish has been undergoing treatment at Seattle Children’s hospital and living at Ronald McDonald House. Dad was staying with him from November through March while Mom worked and his brother and sister switched schools and moved in with grandparents. Now Dad is going back to work and Mom is coming over because Tavish still has 4-5 months left in Seattle. Tavish was in the news in December because a post of him wanting cards went viral. He is a typical 3 year old who loves hot wheels and paw patrol. Because he wants to be like his brother and sister he likes to watch Minecraft videos on YouTube. He loves them so much that when he gets to spend time with them he will just randomly hug them. Having his own iPad would allow him to FaceTime with them whenever he wants.
