We've been forever changed by the children we've met along the way. We carry their light, their courage, and their memory in everything we do. This page is for them — our Heaven's Heroes — and the families who loved them.
Each of these kids changed us. A few of their families have shared a piece of their story — so the rest of the world can know them, even a little.
"He played every level like the boss fight was already won."
Liam loved Mario Kart, dinosaur facts, and making his little sister laugh until she snorted. Diagnosed with DIPG at 11, he never stopped collecting power-ups for the people around him.
"Be the kind of kid your dog thinks you are."
Ava turned her hospital room into a Minecraft server for the whole oncology floor. She believed every player deserved a respawn, and she fought neuroblastoma with the same generosity she handed out diamonds.
"Loading screens are just the part before the fun."
Jordan was a Smash Bros. tournament regular and a fierce defender of his three younger brothers. AML took him too soon, but his GamerTag still gets a shout-out in our Discord every Friday night.
"Pink controller, gold heart, infinite lives."
Mia rolled critical hits on kindness. She kept a notebook of every kid she met in treatment and wrote them encouragement notes. Rhabdomyosarcoma never dulled her sparkle.
"Friends are the best DLC."
Eli built worlds in Roblox before he could ride a bike. He fought osteosarcoma for four years with a sketchbook full of game ideas, half of which our dev friends are still trying to make real.
"Press start. Always press start."
Sophia was our first Hero — the spark of this whole mission. She picked out the very first Hero Package herself and asked us to make sure every kid like her got one. We promised. We keep promising.
