Enzo, at 22 months started to have daily fevers. We couldn’t figure out why, and neither could the doctors. Eventually, after hospital stays and many pediatrician appointments- they ordered a bone marrow biopsy. The results quickly showed us that enzo has JMML (Juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia) Which is a very rate childhood cancer that results in too many myelocytes and monocytes (two types of WBCs) are produced from immature blood stem cells called blasts. Enzo has had several weeks and now most recently, 40 days of being in the hospital, along with many blood transfusions, rounds of chemotherapy, ct scans, x rays, and a large amount of other testing. He is currently waiting to undergo a bone marrow transplant. He is 1 of 4 boys in our family, and he just turned 2! He is so brave and so strong during each dreaded hospital stay, clinic visit, treatment, transfusion and each testing. We ask for any and all support, love, prayers and positivity for him and our other 3 boys. We are a family of 6. Our boys are 6, 4, 2 (enzo), and we also have a 7 month old baby. Zackery, Kash, Enzo and Antonio. We live very far from his treatment hospital (Laurinburg to Charlotte - Levine children’s hospital)- and unfortunately don’t have any family or friends in the area either. We are a very close family, dealing with an extremely tough time almost completely alone. My husband has recently had to stop working completely due to not having extra hands with all of the children and being in and out of the hospital, as well as Clinic apts.
